180 GSM

The Weight That Works

Your Tee Is Either See-Through Or A Sauna. There’s a Reason.

It comes down to one number almost nobody checks before buying: GSM.

GSM stands for grams per square metre — basically, how much fabric is packed into the shirt. It’s the single biggest factor in how a tee feels, and almost no product listing mentions it.

  • Go too low — anything under 150 GSM — and you get a shirt that’s thin enough to see through, loses its shape after a few washes, and feels closer to an undershirt than outerwear.
  • Go too high — 220+ GSM, common in “heavyweight” streetwear tees — and you get real structure, but you’re also wearing something closer to a light jacket. Fine in Lahore in January. Rough in Karachi in June.
180 GSM sits in the middle for a reason. Heavy enough to hold its shape and feel worth what you paid. Light enough to forget you’re wearing it.

We didn’t land on 180 GSM by guessing. It’s the weight we kept coming back to after testing heavier and lighter batches — the one where nobody on the team said “it’s a bit much” or “it feels thin.”
